Core Goals of the Alliance

Advocacy & Representation:
Represent member businesses in dealings with city, county, and state government to ensure that policies, regulations, and enforcement efforts reflect the true interests and needs of the local business community.

Public Safety & Cleanliness:
Promote and support initiatives that enhance security, reduce public disturbances, and improve sanitation services throughout south beach and it’s dining and entertainment districts.

Preservation of Historic Character:
Advocate for the protection and celebration of the area’s unique Art Deco architecture, cultural heritage, and distinctive aesthetic as a cornerstone of its international appeal, while allowing for future growth.

Opposition to the South Beach BID:
Serve as an organized voice of opposition to the proposed South Beach Business Improvement District (BID), which the Alliance believes is burdensome, exclusionary, and potentially subject to legal challenge. SBA will explore and support legal and political remedies to prevent its implementation.

A Business-Friendly Environment:
Encourage the creation of a stable, predictable, and growth-oriented business climate by reducing unnecessary regulatory burdens and ensuring fair enforcement.

Marketing & Promotion:
Lead efforts to collectively market the district, locally, nationally and internationally as a world-class destination for dining, entertainment, hospitality, art and culture — driven by and for the local business community.

Member Engagement & Growth:
Foster a connected business network by offering member-exclusive events, communications, resources, and decision-making participation.
